Welcome to Digital Media Basics!
This course will introduce you to the basic knowledge and skills you need to understand, use, and create digital media. The main topics are instructional software (CBT), text, images, sound, video, and web site development. Explore the menu items to learn more about the course and see some examples of projects completed by previous classes. Your facilitator this week is Steven Estrella, Ph.D., an authorized instructor for the Technology Institute for Music Educators (TI:ME at www.ti-me.org). Dr. Estrella earned his Ph.D. at Temple University in Philadelphia in 1992. He was Assistant Professor of Music Education and Director of Computer Media Services at Temple University from 1991-2001. After leaving Temple University in May of 2001, Dr. Estrella created ShearSpire Media to service the software development needs of businesses in media, the arts, and education. He is a specialist in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Web Audio API, and Adobe Animate multimedia software development. In January 2023, he earned the Web Accessibility Specialist certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals.
